WHO, WHAT, WHERE
Renee Coombs
WHO
"I was born and raised in a rural area of upstate New York on a dairy farm. I had a wonderful childhood where I spent most of my time walking the creek, jumping in haystacks, picking berries and having an array of animals. I contribute the freedom to my art from my childhood.

When I was 10, I had a museum in the basement of my family's home. I found artistic pictures in magazines and cut them out to hang alongside my own art. Then I charged my friends and my sister's friends pennies to enter.

I began my painting career when I was in high school. I couldn't stay away from the art room. I fell in love with the teachers "artsy" clothe, which signaled other ways of looking at things.

After all these years I still live and work in an area where life is all around me; breathing animals, corn growing, hills and sense of time lapse. No traffic jams here!"
WHAT
"I am a painter who loves to use color and I can't seem to contain myself.
I work with color more than line.

One of the things I like about myself is that I am not perfect and my artwork is not perfect. I love my purple cows and green birds with one leg longer than the other. I enjoy painting houses with crooked windows and tilted shutters.

Actually, I really like my paintings when they don't make sense and I love to make people laugh when they look at my art.

And they do like my art, because I have sold it all over the universe and my goal is to see it on a billboard in Times Square. Who knows, someday I might just make it to the moon!"
